Getting published is no big deal!
Getting published is no big deal. You can get published in two ways:
Find a publisher
OR
Self-publish
The hardest part is writing . What you write has to have substance and should be of interest to others. I started publishing through making small booklets from home. Initially I did it for our sunday school kids but later I started making ebooks and whole books on my areas of expertise. I find it a very fulfilling activity.
Normally I self publish using my computer with various design tools and ,of course,Microsft word. I like sites like:Lulu.com and cafepress.com that make it so easy to get your finished product out.
Yes, it does cost a bit but I don’t use their print services for myself, only if someone chooses to buy they have to pay for the printing too. I also use pdf 995 software to get the doc. into final shape.
I love the part where my writing is complete and I have to now convert it into a book.
I have learnt a few techniques to make the whole thing into a simple process. You do need to have interest in doing it otherwise it may seem tedious. I find the fineprint.com software handy for putting the book together in the right format for printing.
Currently I have prepared workbooks and manuals in a ready-to-print format. If I want to make it a book form ,I print them out and make it into a book on my kitchen table. All you need to make it into a book is some white cement which I apply on the book edge and some heavy books that i use to keep the papers in place till the cement hardens. I put together a book cover on the computer and get that on the book too and my book is complete! It is simple when you know how.
Finding a publisher to publish your work can be tough but not impossible. If you stick with it long enough and build a good network you will get published. But I like self publishing because it is totally dependent on ME! I am instantly gratified with the end result in my hand with my name as the author on it. You can do the same too.Try it! There is enough information on the web to help you in it. Success will find you half way,so get started.
